A Cat That Appeared in a Dream

Question

I dreamt about a cat twice, two days in a row; does this symbolize anything?

Answer

Greetings,
In the books dealing with dreams, I did not find any mention of what this matter could hint at. However, there is once source written in Aramaic, where the cat is called 'Shunra', the matter hints at 'Shira Nea' (i.e., pleasant song) [which is a hint for something good].
In fact, all the authorities of our time have already stated in the name of Maran the 'Chazon Ish' that in our time when there is no peace of mind and the world is full of news and stories, and therefore, one should not pay attention to dreams at all. Since it certainly came from some thought that the dreamer thought during the day.
However, if the dream bothers the dreamer and he cannot get it out of his mind, it is appropriate to come to the synagogue at the morning prayer, and to say the prayer for giving a positive interpretation of a dream during the blessing of the Kohanim. This prayer is printed in all the prayer books.
