Tomato bush
Question
If I have a new tomato bush do I have to wait four years to eat from it even if it’s for personal consumption?
Answer
Shalom!
Thank you for your question.
A tomato bush (as well as bananas, strawberries, and eggplants) is not subject to any orlah restrictions. They are not trees from the perspective of halacha.
