Touching Sweat

Question

Do you have to wash your hands after touching sweat?

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your question.

Only one who touched sweat from areas of the body that are normally covered is required to wash one’s hands. So, for example, one who touched sweat from under the arms or the chest would have to was one’s hands. However, if one touched sweat from areas that are normally uncovered, one is not required to wash one’s hands. So, for example, if one wipes sweat form one’s face or forehead, one will not be required to wash one’s hands.

I will add that anytime one touches a part of the body that is normally covered one is required to wash one’s hands whether it was sweaty or dry.
