Dear Rabbi, My name is Thadeus Thomas Shudark, and I feel a deep spiritual calling from the Almighty to learn more about my Jewish roots. Family stories suggest that some of our ancestors escaped Poland during World War II. My original family name was Shudark, which was changed during immigration; the original spelling was Szudarek.
