Tefillin or Hospitality
Question
I have a guest, and this morning, as I was preparing to put on my tefillin-Shel-Yad, the guest asked me for coffee. Should I have stopped putting on the tefillin to make him coffee? On one hand, we do not interrupt doing a mitzvah, but on the other hand, it is brough that hospitality is greater than receiving the Divine Presence. Or maybe, I should have put on the tefillin first, and then made him coffee?
Answer
Shalom Rav,
You should first attend to the needs of your guest.
