Goy seeking knowledge on how best to support Jewish husband

Question

My husband is currently in the process of converting and is wanting to raise our future children as Jewish and I fully support that decision. I want to clarify that I am not Jewish, nor am I part of any abrahamic faith but I'm wanting to know how to best to support him (as well as our future children) as a goy and what traditions and celebrations and rules that I should keep in mind to be helpful and supportive of them. Between school and work I don't have enough time to join the classes that teach about it but I still want to learn and be supportive to the person (and people) I love.

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for writing.

It is not possible to convert to Judaism when the other spouse is not Jewish. As such, it is clear that your husband’s conversion is illegitimate. He will not be recognized as Jewish after such a conversion.

As such, you can encourage your husband to focus on what G-d desires for good Gentiles such as yourselves.

See  https://sukkatshalom-bneinoach.com/ and https://www.netivonline.org/ for more.

Good luck!
