Conversion

Question

Dear Rabbi, I'm Yosef from Egypt I hope you are doing well. I am reaching out to you because I have been on a personal journey toward Judaism for some time now. I have spent time studying Jewish teachings, traditions, and practices, and I feel a deep and genuine connection to the faith. Unfortunately, where I live, there are no rabbis or Jewish communities nearby to support me through the official conversion process. As such, I am seeking guidance and assistance from you in moving forward with my conversion. I would greatly appreciate your help, whether it be through virtual support, advice, or directing me to resources that could help me in this process. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you and discussing how I can continue on this important spiritual journey. Warm regards, Yosef

Answer

Shalom!

One can only convert to Judaism in a community where conversions are performed.

Therefore, it would not be possible to convert to Judaism in Egypt since among the requirements for conversion is to live in a Jewish community and to attend synagogue on a daily, or at least weekly, basis for a number of years before the formal conversion is performed.
