The Altar

Question

i have a question regarding bronze alter, how can a alter made of acacia wood and overlaid with bronze can withstand a fire with out loosing its structural stability can you please explain it for my understanding

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your question.

Bronze is a fire resistant metal. The altar was able to burn the sacrifices and remain intact. especially that it is written that the fire would decend from heaven and consume the sacrifices and such a 'fire' wouldn't affect the metal at all
