Borrer Question

Question

Hello 1. After the Shabbos Seuda there is leftover Challah with other waste on the plastic tablecloth. Do I need to seperate the Challah to dispose of it in a seperate bag or can I throw it away wrapped in the tablecloth with the other waste? 2. Regarding 1 = what if the pieces are small or crumbs ? 3. Assuming I need or want to seperate the Challah to throw it out seperately in its own bag ; would it be an issue of בורר to seperate the Challah if it is in a mixture with other waste on the plastic tablecloth? Would this be considered needing it מיד?

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your questions.

1. You can dispose of leftover challa that will no longer be needed along with the wrapped-up tablecloth, however if there is other foods that would spoil the bread when you wrap it up, then you would need to take them out and dispose of them separately.

2. In all cases on may just wrap it up.

3. It would not be "borrer" at all because leftover challa on the table is not a "mixture" with anything else around it because it is so distinct from anything else.
