Question
Can calamine lotion be placed on a mosquito bite on shabbas? What can be done on shabbaschag to alleviate the pain? The bites I get in my area cause me a high level of discomfort and pain Thanks

Le'halacha with regard to calamine lotion Hagaon Harav Fried Shelita says is as follows:
There are two issues here — one of refuah on Shabbos, and one of memare’ach.
With regard to refuah on Shabbos, it’s permitted only if there’s strong irritation.
As for memare’ach, the ointment should be diluted before use so that it becomes liquid.
