Creating a graf shel rei

Question

If someone’s a guest for Shabbos—let’s say at his father-in-law’s—and he puts a dirty diaper in a bag so it’s not just sitting around, even though he could’ve left it on a windowsill where the smell wouldn’t bother anyone, but that would leave the host with the job of throwing it out after Shabbos—does that count as purposely making a graf shel rei? And does he need to take it straight to the public garbage bin now, so he won’t be stuck carrying it later after the meal?

Answer

Shalom,

This isn’t considered creating a graf shel rei.

In any case, the host isn’t the one who is obligated to take it out to the garbage, so either way, you’ll need to move the diaper yourself—wherever it's placed.
