Inverter Air Conditioner on Shabbat

Question

I saw on the website that the Rav permits the use of an inverter air conditioner on Shabbat.I would appreciate a detailed explanation of the Rav's reasoning in this matter (since some are stringent), and why the Rav ruled leniently. Thank you very much.

Answer

Shalom,

The effect it has on the operation of the air conditioner is neither direct nor is it 'for sure necessary'. Therefore, it is considered no more than a remote Safek Grammah (doubtful case of indirect causation).
