Ice Cream Bar Opened on Shabbat, while Transgressing a Prohibition
Question
I opened an ice cream bar on Shabbos and accidentally tore the letters on the packaging. Am I now allowed to eat the ice cream bar, even though now I derive benefit from Shabbos desecration?
Answer
Shalom!
It is permitted to eat the ice cream bar, since it was not necessary to perform this forbidden labor in order to eat it.
