Tefillin

Question

From what I know, when a person puts on a tefillin for the arm, it is ment to be on the non-dominant arm. Now I write with my right hand which, would by definition make me right handed so I should put the tefillin on my left arm. But I use my left for everything else, which to me makes it the more dominant hand. Which arm should I put my tefillin on? Does it matter in this circumstance?

Answer

I have the exact same dilemma!

You should put your tefillin on the left arm. The bottom line is: you do NOT put tefillin on the primary arm/hand you write with. An ambidextrous person should also wear tefillin on his left arm.
