Mezuza Question
Question
I have a mirpeset (balcony). Where should I put the mezuzah?
Answer
Shalom!
Thank you for your question!
Open balcony:
Even if it is large enough to measure 2.32 by 2.32 meters, many people follow the opinion of the Beis Meir and the Chazon Ish to place the mezuzah on the right side when entering toward the house.
Balcony enclosed with shutters and windows:
If it is enclosed and suitable for sleeping, its status is like any inner room. Therefore, if it has the above minimum size, the mezuzah is placed on the right side when entering toward the inner room. If it does not have this size, it is treated like a small room, and please than write to us the measurement of the balcony.
