Drawing Blood from Father-in-law

Question

Is it permissible for a son-in-law to draw blood from his father-in-law?Or is it forbidden, just as a son is forbidden to draw blood from his father?Thank you.

Answer

Shalom,

The obligation to honor one's father-in-law is not the same as the obligation to honor one's own parents. The definition is that one needs to respect his father-in-law like he would to other important people.

Therefore, there is no prohibition against drawing blood from him for medical purposes and the like.
