Kaddish DeRabbanan in the 12th Month After Father's Passing
Question
Answer
Since Kaddish DeRabbanan is not related to mourning, it can be recited after study even in the 12th month. However, the Kaddish recited during prayer, since it is customary for only mourners to recite it, should not be recited by the mourner in the 12th month.

Pitchei Teshuva, Yoreh De'ah, Siman 376, S"K 4: "It implies that if both are alive, Kaddish should not be recited, and this specifically refers to the Orphan's Kaddish, but Kaddish DeRabbanan can be recited. This is also written in Teshuvot Even Shem, Siman 20, see there."
Similarly, it is written in Machatzit HaShekel, Orach Chaim, Siman 292, S"K 2, that Kaddish DeRabbanan is related to study, and his opinion is that the study will be credited to the merit of the deceased, not the Kaddish.
