Payment to a Lawyer for a Contract

Question

I approached a lawyer to draft a contract for the purpose of buying an apartment, but in the end, I backed out of the deal. Am I obligated to pay the lawyer for the work he has done?

Answer

Shalom!
The lawyer has done his job, and it is your duty to pay him.
