Limits on Taking Support for the Chagim
Question
In the past, I received assistance for Yom Tov expenses, like many others. Now I can sign up again, and they already have my income and expense information. Should I apply for the support, even though I could manage by tightening my budget a bit and still get through Yomim Tovim without going into debt?
Answer
Shalom uVracha,
It’s Le'chtchillah to receive support for the chagim. It makes things easier and gives peace of mind, especially if you have children, since one is always allowed to accept tzedakah to provide for them.
