Do u have to give maaser if u have debts?

Thank you for your question.
One who does not earn enough to cover his own necessary expenses and therefore is in debt, is not obligated to give Ma’aser. One is completely exempt from having to give Ma’aser, and doesn't even need to make a note to pay back later.
