Returning a product

Shalom.
If someone bought a product and then sees in another store that the product is cheaper there, is it permitted to return the product to the first store in order to buy it in the second?

Shalom u’vracha.
If this store has a policy of accepting returns, then it is permissible; if not, then it is not.

According to the strict law, once a valid kinyan (act of acquisition) has been made, it is clear throughout the entire Talmud and the Shulchan Aruch (primarily in siman 189) that one cannot return the item without a claim of ona’ah (overcharging/undercharging) or a defect. Nevertheless, in our times the civil law requires that there be a product return policy of up to 14 days, and in some places this law has been accepted as the local custom. This is considered as an implicit condition in the sale that the item may be returned, and it makes no difference what the reason for the return is — the condition exists, and the buyer may return the purchase.
