Small Additional Payment
Question
My friend owes me around 68 Shekels (I say “around” because it’s for various things—gas, etc.—and he said it came out to about 68 Shekels. I checked and it was roughly 67.5 Shekels). He transferred 68 Shekels. Is there any issue of ribbis (interest) because of this? (Of course, he’s fine with it and I’m fine with it, etc.)
Answer
Shalom u'vracha
There is no problem with this.
A payment like this is approximate and not exact down to the last agurah, since with things like gas and similar expenses, it’s not really possible to be 100% precise.
