Amniocentesis - High-Risk Pregnancy

Good morning!My wife is in a high-risk pregnancy, and I have a family history of syndromes and developmental delays in children. The doctors told us that it is really necessary to do an amniocentesis test.I wanted to ask if, in the case of high risk and problematic family history, there is a halachic allowance to do such a test.
