Temporary Filling - Chatzitzah ?

Question

Is a temporary dental filling a problem for immersion (tevilah), if it’s something that can remain on the tooth for a long time?

Answer

Shalom uVracha,

A temporary filling involves many details, so I’ll address your specific case.

If the filling is strong and can, on its own, last for an extended period, it is not considered a chatzitzah for immersion — even though it will eventually be replaced with a more permanent and stronger filling.
