Bleeding Due to Ectropion

Question

My wife is in her fifth month of pregnancy and she had a little bleeding. We quickly went to the hospital and they said that it is probably what I attached here.
Cervical ectropion in pregnancy is a common, benign, and normal condition in which cells from inside the cervical canal spread to the outer part of the cervix. It is usually caused by hormonal changes, such as those that occur during pregnancy.
The result is a redder and more sensitive appearance of the cervix, and there may be symptoms such as increased discharge or light bleeding. Usually no treatment is needed, but it is important to rule out other issues such as infections, and significant bleeding requires evaluation.
Does she need to go to the mikvah or not?

Answer

Shalom uVracha,

Hurry to go to a bo’edeket (halachic examiner), so she can check whether the bleeding is coming from the cervix due to the ectropion.

If it is indeed clear that the cervix itself is bleeding and the uterine discharge is clean, she is tahor.
