Distressing One's Wife and Ex-Wife

Question

Is it permissible to encourage one's new wife to approach his ex-wife at a family celebration, shake her hand, and praise her children? The question is not about character traits, as it is certainly unpleasant for both the ex-wife and the new wife. Rather, is it permitted or forbidden?

Answer

Shalom u'vracha

There is no prohibition in terms of divorce laws.

However, 'bad character traits' are also a prohibition just like other parts of the Torah.
