Smoke Vent Above a Grill

Question

Shalom uVracha,I’m staying at a guesthouse and wanted to ask; may I use the grill there? It’s placed under a stone structure that absorbs the smoke and steam. (The grill itself I brought from home; my question is about the stone structure above it, and I’m also not entirely sure what material it’s made of.)

Answer

Shalom uVracha,

It’s permitted to use that type of smoke vent.

Since the grill isn’t directly connected to the stone structure above it.
