Heating Challah on the Cholent Pot on Shabbos

Question

Is it permitted to place a challah on the pot of cholent on Shabbos, or would that make the challah considered fleishig?

Answer

Shalom uVracha,

Heating the challah in this way makes it fleishig. Therefore, it may not be eaten together with milk, cheese, or the like.

However, there is no prohibition in this making it meaty, unlike baking bread with meat, since the prohibition is only at the stage of baking. Afterwards, it is permitted to spread something meaty on it or to dip it into a meaty sauce.
