Vegan Diet
Question
Can you be vegan in Judaism? It is not against Torah I see that more and more Jews in Israel are vegans and + it is easier to keep kosher on 97 procents
Answer
Shalom!
Thank you for your question.
Being a vegan is considered as going against the Torah, since it is a mitzvah to eat meat for the Shabbos meals and festivals—unless a person is unwell and, for health reasons, cannot eat meat.
