Electric Kettle in a Non-Religious Zimmer
Question
I'm staying at a non-religious vacation rental — is it okay to use the electric kettle, or should I be concerned that it may have been used to heat non-kosher food?
Answer
Shalom UvRacha,
There’s no need to be concerned that non-kosher food was heated in it — that’s not something commonly done.
However, it is still forbidden to use the kettle, since it was clearly not immersed in a mikveh.
