Making a knife kosher again
Question
We have a knife that was used for both meat and dairy dishes when they were boiling-hot, so now it’s definitely trayf. Is there a way to make it kosher again?

You have to wait for 24 hours after the last time the knife was used, clean it thoroughly, and deep it into boiling water. That is, you have to immerse it in a pot of boiling water that’s standing over a fire. Then you have to rinse it in cold water, and now it’s kosher!
