Joining dough to separate challah
Question
Someone has two different doughs, each of which isn’t large enough to require him to separate challah from it. How can he join them together so as to create an obligation to separate the challah?
Answer
Shalom,
It is possible to connect and attach them directly to one another. It is also possible to put them in one container that has walls and a lid. One can use a bedsheet or a large towel to put all the dough in it together, and this way they will be considered one large dough, from which one would be obligated to separate the challah.
Also, putting all the doughs into one plastic bag would join them and obligate one to separate the challah.
