Naming My Child in Hebrew

Question

I wanted to name my child 'Raim' with proper hebrew meaning. I need to know if there is any proper meaning for this word in hebrew.

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your question.

You could be referring to the name “Re'em” which is an animal mentioned several times in Tanach. It has often been translated as "unicorn" though other more likely translations include "oryx," "buffalo," or "rhinoceros".

You might also be referring to the name “Re'im” which means friends.

However, Hagaon Harav Fried Shelita advises to choose a better name other than these two.
