Torah- Honoring parents

Question

What is required of a Rabbi if he becomes aware that s member of his church doesn't follow commandment of honoring your parents. And refusing to charge them with a reason.

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your question.

A rabbis job is to teach and inspire his followers to be good Jews. If a rabbi knows that someone in his congregation is having challenges with his/her parents, the rabbi might consider speaking to the individual privately to see if he can help the situation.

It is not the rabbis job to "charge" them.
