Messianic Jews
Question
Are all jews messianic? Is it true a Christian jew is the same as a jew? Or are they born again jews.
Answer
Shalom!
Thank you for your question.
There is no such thing as a “Messianic Jew.” All Jews believe in the coming of the Messiah, and it is one of the thirteen principles of the Jewish faith. The term “Messianic Jew,” however, refers to Jews who believe that Jesus is the Messiah. It is identical to the Christian belief.
One who believes in the Christian messiah is a Christian. You cannot be both a Jew and a Christian, just like you cannot enjoy a steak and claim to be vegetarian. There is no such thing as a Christian Jew, Messianic Jew, Jews for Jesus, Born Again Jew, or any of that nonsense.
Judaism was the first, and possibly the only truly monotheistic religion that believes in the One and only God. These “Messianic Movements” are no more than fifty years old and were created to trick Jews into becoming Christians. Most streams of Christianity believe that there is an obligation to seek Jews out and convince them that Jesus is the Messiah. This is true whether they accept Jesus as Christians with full conversion or even if they accept Jesus while remaining Jewish. It is all dishonest and trickery.
One must keep away from all such people and movements. There many many reason why Jesus cannot be the Jewish Messiah.
A Jew who is born a Jew remains a Jew even if he sins, such as by abandoning his people and his religion. He can always repent and rejoin the Jewish people.
In conclusion, I think I have made it absolutely clear that there is no tolerance in Judaism for any belief in any legitimacy to Jesus.
