Gentiles Consulting Rabbis

Question

Hello, I wanted to ask if there is also a place for Gentiles to consult on certain matters with rabbis?

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for our question!

Yes, absolutely! The Talmud is full of examples of non-Jews, including Roman noblemen and government officials consulting rabbis for advice.

Non-Jews are welcome to consult rabbis on all matters of religion and life. Most rabbis will be more than happy to answer such questions. We are happy to interact and support non-Jews who believe in God and observe the “Seven Laws of Noah” of morality. Rabbis are often wiser than most people and would be happy to share their wisdom with anyone who asks.

So too, non-Jews are welcome in Jewish courts (“Beit Din”) to solve financial differences they might have with other Jews. Taking such matters to Beit Din is virtually cost-free, faster, and matters are resolved according to Torah law. That’s a win-win for everyone!
