DNA Test
Question
I wish you peace and prosperity. I'm Spanish, and I had a DNA test, and it turned out I'm 20% Jewish. I'd like to know if that makes me Jewish or not, and what you recommend I do to rediscover my past.
Answer
Shalom!
Thank you for your question.
One is only Jewish if one's mother is Jewish or one converts to Judaism. DNA tests are not valid in Jewish law to determine "Jewishness" on its own, so do you know anything more about your ancestry?
