Why does Hashem give us nisyonos? What is their purpose?

Hashem gives us niyonos to help us achieve our full potential. For example, Hashem knew Avraham's greatness, but the tests brought that potential to reality.
These tests are seen as opportunities to purify our souls, strengthen our connection to Him, and earn reward. They also strengthen our emunah (faith) and build character. Finally, sometimes they are meant to atone for something wrong we might have done.
Don’t worry too much...Hashem only gives tests that a person can handle!
