Nobody Wants To Help Me

Question

I am in my late seventies and I am a conservative Jewish woman who has supported many Jewish organizations over the years and then I got sick and now I need heart surgery and I am struggling financially. I have asked for help but my emails are ignored and no response. My question is, how come when I have helped so many over the years and when I need help I can't get it? Please explain.

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for writing.

Try to personally reach out to members of the community who could help you, since email is not generally as effective.

The books of Tehillim/Psalms tells us that we should never rely on man to repay good deeds. Only G-d repays good deeds. G-d knows all the good you have done and you will be rewarded.

May G-d send you a refuah shleima.
