Chol Hamo'ed
Question
Is it permitted to cut fingernails on Chol Hamoed?
Answer
Shalom!
Thank you for your question.
sefardim are permitted.
For Ashkenazim it is forbidden, however with ones teeth or or hands it is permitted. in a time of need one may start to cut ones nails with scissors and continue with either ones hands or teeth. It is permitted to cut the nails of children.
If one cut one’s nails on Erev Yom Tov it is permitted to cut them again on Chol Hamoed. (Mishna Berura 532:2)
If one generally cuts ones nails every erev Shabbos, then he may do so on Chol Hamoed Erev Shabbos.
