Menstrual Pain - Tisha B'Av
Question
If a woman has menstrual cramps and can’t take a pill without water, how can she take it?
Answer
Someone who needs to take medication during a fast and must have water to swallow the pill should make the water bitter—by adding salt or a few chamomile tea bags with no sugar—so that it’s not considered “drinking.”
