Grading Exams on Tisha B'Av
Question
Is it permitted to grade Bagrut exams on Tisha B’Av?
Answer
Until midday, it is forbidden to engage in any work.
From Chatsot (Halachic midday) onward, you’re only allowed to do work that isn’t something fixed or time-consuming—meaning it doesn’t take more than half an hour.
Grading exams usually takes longer and requires real focus, so it would not be allowed on Tisha B’Av.
