The Name of G-d in the Book of Lamentations

Question

Why is the name Eloqim (which signifies the attribute of judgement) not mentioned in the Book of Lamentations? Is the destruction not a judgment?

Answer

The explanation may be based on what Rashi wrote: 'A psalm of Asaph. O Eloqim, the nations have come into your inheritance, etc.' It should have been a lament for Asaph! But the interpretation is this: Asaph sang a song about The Holy One, blessed be He’s venting His wrath on the wood and stones of His house, and as a result, His leaving a remnant in Israel. For if not for this, none of Israel would have survived. And so it says, 'The Lord has exhausted His wrath, He has poured out His fierce anger; He has kindled a fire in Zion.'
