Taking a Pill on a Fast Day

My wife takes a contraceptive pill. What should she do tonight?

If she can, she should take it without water.
If she cannot swallow it without water, she should take it with a small amount of water. It is preferable to make the water bitter with tea extract, or salt, etc.
