Editing a Presentation During the Nine Days on the Topic of the Day

Question

I want to prepare a presentation — a song accompanied by background images — which is meant to be shown the day after Tisha B’Av. The song is about tears and the rebuilding of the Beis HaMikdash. Personally, I cry while working on it. However, in order to edit it properly, I need to listen to the background songs repeatedly to match the visuals to the music. Is this permitted or appropriate during the Nine Days? I should note that I’m listening to the song at a very low volume, just for myself. Thank you.

Answer

Shalom,

You are permitted to listen to the music in order to do the necessary work,
since your goal is not to enjoy the music but to complete the task.
