Swimming in the sea in the month of Elul
Question
Next week I am going on a trip with a group of girls. We would like to know if we’re allowed to swim in the sea in the month of Elul.
Answer
There is no prohibition against swimming in the sea in the month of Elul, and there is no point in trying to avoid doing so. However, one should keep in mind that Elul is a time of repentance and good deeds. Therefore, you should pay special attention to do everything in the right way, according to the Torah.
