Selichot at an Early Hour

Question

I teach in a religious school, and during Elul I try to daven vatikin, since it's not too early. But I can’t wake up early enough for selichos before that. Near me there’s a Gerrer chassidish minyan that says selichos every day at 10:30 — is it worthwhile for me to say selichos with them?

Answer

Shalom u'vracha

If it’s hard to wake up early, and the tiredness will affect your ability to teach and learn Torah properly, then you should say the selichos the evening before.
