Sukkah made of metal and ropes

Question

I have a sukkah that consists of a metal frame and canvas that’s stretched over it. If the canvas flaps in the wind, how can I use ropes to make this sukkah kosher?

Answer

The best way to make this sukkah kosher is thus. You should stretch five ropes at a distance of 20 cm. (about 8 inches) from one another. That is, you stretch the fist rope 20 cm. above the floor, then the next one 20 cm. above the first one, etc., util you reach the height of one meter (about 3.3 feet). This way, the sukkah is going to be kosher according to both opinions as to the length of one tephach (handsbreadth). These ropes should run along at least three walls of the sukkah.
