Chanuka Lighting
Question
My family is going to our grandmother's for 5th nite Hanukkah. Are we allowed to light the menorah with a blessing
Answer
Shalom!
Thank you for your question.
The Menorah may only be lit with a blessing in one's own home. One does not fulfill the mitzva by lighting in someone else's home unless one is sleeping there.
As such, you should light the Menorah in your home either before going to your grandmother or have someone light on your behalf at your home. (note: there are restrictions about how much one may eat before lighting the Menorah)
