Where to place the Hanukkah menorah

Shalom, I live abroad on the second floor, and my balcony does not face the public domain, and there are also no neighbors who can see the candles, and I am supposed to light at the entrance. The problem is that I have a baby who can easily knock over the menorah, and holding him during the first half hour and then moving the candles to another place is complicated. My question is: may I place the menorah on the table? I should mention that I am from Edot HaMizrach (Sephardic background).

If it is possible to light at the entrance, you must make the effort to light there, even if it is somewhat complicated. 

Only when there is absolutely no possibility do you light on the table. 

[Of course, there are those whose custom is always to light on the table at home, especially outside of Eretz Yisrael].
